There are many ways to transform a recipe. Adding herbs and spices to change the flavor profile. "Elevating" the recipe by enhancing the flavor without changing the flavor profile. "Deconstructing" a recipe by making something different with the same ingredients, like turning a pot pie into a soup. Or making major changes by substituting, adding, and/or removing ingredients.
