Let's face it, straining frozen spinach can be messy. You can squeeze it with your hands, squeeze it in cheesecloth, or put it in a colander and wait forever for it to drain. Fortunately, there's a faster and cleaner method: Use a French Press!

The French Press is For More Than Coffee!
The French Press is great for making coffee or loose-leaf tea. But it can also be used for a lot of other things, including juicing berries, mixing drinks, making infused oils and vinegars, and even whipping cream! But my favorite way to use a French Press is to strain frozen spinach!
What You'll Need
- A French Press
- Thawed frozen spinach
Here's How To Do It!
Put the thawed spinach into the French Press.
Insert the plunger.
Press down hard to compress the spinach, and pour off the juice. How easy was that?
Here's half a cup of spinach juice that I got from two packages of spinach.
What Can You Do With The Spinach Juice?
Don't pour it down the sink! That's a terrible waste and could result in a visit from the Culinary Crime Squad! (They're the same people who come after you if you pronounce "vinaigrette" as "vinegar-ette", or "paprika" as "papa-rika".)
Here are some things you can do instead:
- Drink it!
- Add it to soups or stews
- Put it in a smoothie
- Use it to make a green juice with apple and cucumber
